We have made a pact for the planet.
A pact to do more in reducing the amount of plastic waste clogging up our ecosystem and to minimise
the impact we, as a business, have on the environment.
We know there is a long road ahead before we become fully sustainable. We also know that change begins
with the first step. So we have started in the place where we can have the biggest immediate impact
– the materials we use to produce our carrywear.
We will continue to update our customers on our progress towards a more sustainable future.
Packaging
Generation EarthTM bags and laptop cases are packaged in 100%
recyclable paperbased packaging and we are transitioning to
soy-based inks. Our online orders come packaged in a biodegradable
clear bag, with a 100% recyclable paper tag, placed inside a 100%
recyclable paper carton box
Product
All of Generation EarthTM carrywear is made from at least 70% recycled plastic bottles.
The recycled elements of our bags are made from 100% recycled yarn – not a
combination of recycled and virgin as can often be the case. Our journey
is always to repurpose material to achieve 100% recycled product that is fit for purpose.
Suppliers and materials
Our suppliers meet the highest standards of manufacturing and compliance.
All our direct suppliers sign a code of conduct and adhere to the Global
Recycled Standard (GRS) that authenticates the yarn.
Ethical production and labour
Our laptop bags, briefcases and laptop sleeves are produced in a Business Social
Compliance Initiative (BSCI) accredited factory. BSCI is an industry-driven movement
that monitors and assesses workplace standards across the global supply chain.
We continue to review and re-examine our supply chain as part of our ongoing
commitment to ensuring safe, fair and ethical work practices.
Circular Economy
We believe in the reduce, reuse, repair, recycle philosophy and as
a brand our aim is to champion this with our customers. We are actively
pursuing options and opportunities to create a circular economy that
enables you to recycle your secondhand items so that they can be given
new life. We will be sharing more on this soon.
